If you can count to twelve you can open a carton of eggs and count eggs and empty spaces.  You can play games that lead to Addition and Multiplication.

Addition starts as a trick for faster counting and then it becomes a method that takes two somethings  and makes a something.

Multiplication starts as a trick to add likes and then it becomes a method that a something and an elsething and makes a something.

We study the math of scalars, vectors, one-forms, dot-products, matrices and we study magic and contrary that can make these things more fun.  The restriction to linearity can give superpowers to an area of math.  (Less is more)
